Digital X-Rays
Digital X-rays emit 80 to 90 percent less radiation than traditional film X-rays. Our digital X-ray system allows us to take a digital image of the entire jaw, and we also offer digital cephalometric X-rays, which take a picture of the head and jaw from the side. These types of X-rays are an invaluable tool to help us evaluate jaw growth and do comprehensive orthodontic treatment planning. This top-notch technology also allows us to capture certain intraoral images without placing a sensor in the mouth, which means no more discomfort or gagging while getting X-rays taken.
Digital Impressions and Same-Day Crowns
The Cerec Omnicam uses digital imaging technology that enables us to take precise digital impressions for Invisalign, crowns and other restorative procedures. This allows our patients to avoid dealing with the discomfort of messy traditional impressions and enables us to make and insert high-quality ceramic crowns the same day. You can even watch the process right from the dentist’s chair! Using the latest CAD/CAM technology, your crown is digitally designed and then milled in a special machine. As soon as it’s finished, your crown is cemented, and you’ll be on your way with no need to wear a temporary crown for weeks and come in for multiple appointments to have a permanent crown cemented.
Additional Technology
Caries Detection
The CariVu is a radiation-free device that uses patented trans-illumination technology to help our dentists find decay early, allowing us to treat small cavities before they become larger.
Oral Cancer Screening
At every exam, our dentists do a visual examination to check for any signs of oral cancer or other oral lesions. We also use the Velscope, a noninvasive oral cancer-screening device that detects precancerous areas before they’re visible to the naked eye.
Diode Laser Treatment
This revolutionary treatment uses a diode soft-tissue laser, which is able to remove and contour gum tissue with minimal discomfort and bleeding. We also use it to relieve the burning pain of cold sores and canker sores and help them heal faster.
